ALTON VILLAGE FROM NORTH

 

If entering Alton Village from the North (Ashbourne or Peak District areas) after crossing the bridge, turn left at the top of the very steep winding hill into High Street.  With the Bull's Head Hostelry on your right, pass the White Hart Hostelry on your left and carry on up the hill into Town Head.  Lavender Cottage can be found on your left immediately opposite the Alton Memorial Garden Monument.

FROM M6, A500, A50 STOKE ON TRENT..

 

Follow signposts for Alton/Ashbourne B5032.

Turn off A50 at McDonald's Restaurant roundabout (B5030).  Carry straight on for 5 miles until you see JCB Headquarters. 

After passing JCB Lakes on your left, turn left at next roundabout towards Denstone village (B5031). Follow Alton/Alton Towers signposts driving for approximately 6 miles.  

Turn right on left hand bend at Blacksmith's Arms pub (B5032).  Follow signs for Alton/Alton Towers.  Now follow directions as above to Alton Village/Lavender Cottage.   

ALTON VILLAGE 

FROM SOUTH

 

Upon entering Alton Village from the South (Cheadle or Denstone areas) turn  at the Blacksmith's Arms pub, turn right at the Village Hall into Hurston's Lane. Continue along this country lane for half a mile.  With Wheel Farm buildings straight ahead take sharp left into Town Head.  Lavender Cottage is on your right immediately opposite the Alton Memorial Garden Monument.
