LAVENDER COTTAGE - TERMS OF CONDITIONS 

   

Thank you for choosing to book Lavender Cottage.  We look forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us.  A provisional booking will reserve the cottage for 7 days pending receipt of £100.00 as deposit.  Full payment must be made at least 4 weeks before commencement of your stay.  For holidays which are to take place within 4 weeks of making the booking the full balance is due from the date of booking.

PRICES:

The price you pay for the accommodation includes Electric, Heating, Bed Linen & Towels, Cleaning Services, Welcome Tray and a Basket of Logs (an initial supply during the Winter months - extra bags of logs are available from the local village stores).

 

CANCELLATION AND INSURANCE:

Once you have booked your holiday, our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable.

 

If your holiday is cancelled in writing within 4 weeks (28 days) of your arrival a full refund will be given.  If less than 4 weeks (28 days) notice is given, and if we succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you if you have already paid it.

 

Please note that your deposit is not refundable under any circumstances as we will already have incurred administration costs and will have additional re-advertising fees to pay.  We may also need to re-advertise the cottage at a reduced "late availability" rate incurring losses.  For this reason we strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker. 

  

NON-AVAILABILITY OF ACCOMMODATION:

We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation were unavailable for reasons beyond our control.  We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation.  However, if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday.  Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

 

ARRIVALS:

Your accommodation will be made available to you from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival.  Please try not to arrive earlier - we will still be busy preparing your accommodation and won’t be available to welcome you.  A "Welcome Tray" will be prepared for your arrival which includes Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Milk and locally produced Biscuits/Cake. 

 

DEPARTURES:

Please be ready to leave the accommodation by 10.00 am on the day of departure.  Please leave the accommodation as clean and tidy as you found it. 

All pots must be washed, dried and put away before departure. Our Cleaning Staff will be arriving at 10.00am to clean the cottage ready for our next guests.

 

If our Cleaners are unable to enter the property at this time any hourly rate normally paid to the Cleaners will be charged to your account (normally £10.00 per hour). 

 

DAMAGES & BREAKAGES:

Please take care with our property.  You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages that you cause to the accommodation or it’s contents.  Please report these as soon as they occur or replace with same.  We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.

 

Failure to report any breakages will incur a £10.00 extra administration charge on your Account. 

 

LIABILITY:

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.

 

CYCLE STORAGE:

Free cycle storage is available in the large shed at the bottom of the garden.  Cycle owners must take responsibility for their own cycle(s) and equipment and take out appropriate insurance cover.  No liability for any loss or damage to cycles or any cycling equipment will be undertaken by the owners of Lavender Cottage.  Please advise on booking if you wish to use these facilities so that we may make a padlock available for your security.

 

OCCUPANCY:

Lavender Cottage offers one bedroom accommodation with a comfortable double bed sleeping 2 people only and is most suited to Couples looking for a cosy character retreat.  Over occupancy of the property will invalidate your Terms & Conditions and you will be asked to vacate the cottage immediately if more than the stated persons are found to be on the premises. The cottage is in a quiet residential area and whilst we wish you to enjoy your holiday, please regard our neighbours and keep the noise to a minimum during your stay. The proprietors reserve the right to refuse acceptance or to terminate the visit of any person whose conduct is detrimental to the comfort of other visitors or otherwise a nuisance to our neighbours. All occupants must be over 18 years of age.

 

CHILDREN:

Lavender Cottage is not suitable for children and we are not insured under Health & Safety guidelines to accept minors.

 

PETS:

We do not currently accept pets.   
 

NON-SMOKING ACCOMMODATION ONLY:

Guests are requested not to smoke inside the cottage.  Please consider our next guests who may suffer from bronchial illnesses or allergies.
